If you perform only an FRP reset (using a tool to wipe the persist partition), your photos, videos, contacts, and apps will NOT be deleted. Only the Google account lock is removed. However, flashing the full firmware will erase all data.
First, install the correct SPD driver. Then turn off the phone, press and hold the Volume Down button, and connect the USB cable. If it still doesn't work, try a different USB port or cable. The phone will not be detected if the driver is not installed properly.
